Azure houses cascade beneath Mehrangarh's towering ramparts — Jodhpur is Rajasthan's most dramatic and haunting cityscape, and the home of Omni Holidays.
Founded in 1459 by Rao Jodha of the Rathore clan, Jodhpur is Rajasthan's second-largest city and arguably its most visually striking. The old city — a dense labyrinth of blue-painted houses — tumbles down the hillside beneath the colossal Mehrangarh Fort, creating a skyline unlike any other on earth.
The blue hue of its houses — traditionally the colour of Brahmin households — has spread across the entire old city over centuries, earning Jodhpur its globally recognised nickname. Mehrangarh, one of India's largest forts, dominates the skyline from a 125-metre sheer cliff face, visible for miles across the Thar Desert.
Jodhpur is also the home of Omni Holidays. Our ground team is based here, giving our clients unmatched local knowledge, connections to the finest heritage hotels, and on-call support that no remote travel agency can replicate.

From a fort that defies gravity to a palace that rivalled the Taj, Jodhpur's landmarks are as bold as the city itself.
One of India's largest forts, rising 125 metres above the city on a sheer cliff. Its ornate palaces, sweeping ramparts, and museum of royal artefacts are unmissable.
INDIA'S GREATEST FORTOne of the world's largest private residences — a golden sandstone Art Deco marvel that functions as palace, heritage hotel, and royal museum simultaneously.
ROYAL RESIDENCEA delicate white marble cenotaph built in 1899 in memory of Maharaja Jaswant Singh II — nicknamed the "Taj Mahal of Marwar" for its ethereal beauty.
MARBLE MARVELThe pulsating heart of old Jodhpur — a vibrant bazaar around the Victorian-era Ghanta Ghar clock tower, selling textiles, spices, and Jodhpuri handicrafts.
OLD CITY BAZAARAncient cenotaphs of the Marwar rulers set in lush gardens — a serene contrast to the fort's grandeur, harbouring centuries of Rathore dynasty history.
ROYAL CENOTAPHSA man-made reservoir on Jodhpur's western edge — a beloved sunset spot and birdwatching destination, with the fort silhouetted golden on the horizon.
SUNSET HAVENJodhpur's street food is legendary across India — bold, spiced, and unmistakably Marwari in character.
Jodhpur's iconic street snack — large green chillies stuffed with a spiced potato filling, dipped in gram flour batter and fried to a golden crisp.
A Jodhpur specialty — a deep-fried pastry stuffed with sweetened khoya (reduced milk), soaked in sugar syrup. A dessert disguised as a savoury snack.
A thick, buttery yoghurt drink topped with a layer of malai (cream) and saffron — the most refreshing way to beat the desert heat in Jodhpur.
The soul of Rajasthani cooking — wood-fire-baked wheat rolls served with five-lentil dal and a sweetened crumble, all generously drowned in ghee.
Our team is right here in Jodhpur. No one knows this city — its hidden havelis, its best sunset spots, its finest dhabas — like we do. Let us design your perfect Blue City experience.
